Case Studies

Schmieding Foundation (Springdale, AR)
Together with Schmieding Center of Senior Education, Schmieding Foundation developed high-quality training and instructional media for certified home caregivers using the unique, nationally renowned Schmieding curriculum.

William Lane facilitated negotiations for licensing intellectual property rights to the training materials and led the creation of a separate entity called ElderStay at Home, Inc. William Lane fully managed the complexities involved with business planning, corporate structure, strategic market research, preliminary sales, development of marketing materials and identification of powerful partnerships.

Fellowship Bible Church NWA (Lowell, AR)
Over the course of two years William Lane consulted with the non-profit regional multi-congregation church, guiding metamorphic overhauls of not only its internal processes but also its physical facilities. Responsible for executive-level operations such as accounting, budget development, cash management, risk/benefits administration, process improvements, interim financing acquisition and comprehensive project management, William Lane spearheaded a four-building, $22-million campus expansion.

Other high-impact deliverables included completion of the church's first set of GAAP-based financials in tandem with an independent external audit, successful conversion to electronic systems for expense reimbursements and charitable giving as well as integration of an outsourced payroll component.

Woodward Regional Hospital (Woodward, OK)
Read the comments of Helen Chiou, M.D., Woodward Regional Hospital Board of Trustees, on William Lane's involvement.

Serving as interim Chief Financial Officer at the non-profit acute care health system for six months, William Lane collaborated with the hospital's Board of Trustees, Task Force for Hospital Management Alternatives, staff and community members in a series of conversations centered around crisis management and strategic planning for the institution.

In addition to engaging all stakeholders in these focused think-tank sessions, William Lane delivered dramatic results and a well-defined path to a bright future through goals-setting exercises, negotiations and process improvements that yielded increases in receivables and cash flow.
